It’s always a touch difficult leaving large urban areas, but I think that we’re getting a knack for it (knock on wood). We left the rented flat around noon, making certain that everything was in neat order. After a stop at a grocery store (Spar), we cycled to the Danube using smartphone apps and the sun.

Determined to put in a reasonable amount of kilometers, we took only one restaurant break around three o’clock. I drank a liter of lemonade and a small cup of espresso. We decided to start our final leg with the song "Forever Young" by Alphaville. The only major difficulty was the fact that a bridge was under construction and we were obligated to ride along a highway with cars for an extended period. The next bridge to the south presented itself and all was well. I imagine that we’ll have to do more flexing as we move east.

For this tour, I purchased a small handlebar speaker that connects wirelessly to my phone. This has been in daily use and takes only a short time to charge. If it holds up, I’ll write a good review on Amazon. I love the fact that it hardly impacts my phone battery.

Pulling into the campsite at Ráckeve, we just made the cut for check in. The woman at the counter kindly offered us bracelet passes for the thermal baths on site. Shortly after setting up the tents, we hopped in. After a long soak and a push-up workout, I took a shower and met the guys in the onsite restaurant. We’re really living large for under thirteen euros.

Charlie left us this morning bound for London. I hope that his flights are pleasant. I’ll miss his company.
