The road proved difficult today, with many ups and downs. It was all worth the effort as the "Iron Gates" area had countless picture views. On one of the downhills, we clocked in at fifty-eight kilometers per hour, our fastest speed on the EuroVelo 6 so far. What’s more enjoyable than a downward cruise on a bicycle?
Stopping for dinner, I ordered an Asian Carp dish that was more bone than fish. To supplement, I put in an order for a basket of bread. The soft jazz, although relaxing at first, became a burden after the piece continued for over an hour.
After cycling for approximately sixty-five kilometers, we pulled into the town of Kladovo with the plan to stay the night. The first beach hotel we checked at had room prices out of our range, prompting a look for something reasonable.
In the second hotel, the man at reception quoted a high price, then let us know about a place down the street that had a room for 10€ each. We ended up following behind an automobile driven by the receptionist of the economy hotel. The room turned out to be the best accommodation we’ve had thus far.
