We came rather close to one hundred kilometers today. My body’s feeling it.
I’m getting acclimated to long distances on the cycle. We had flat pavement or smooth gravel for most of the day, allowing us to push further into Hungary. Some of the EV6 route was paved a short time ago. This will be a golden road for cyclists within the next hundred years.
Animals cropped up today, on or near the path. It’s always a pleasant encounter with horses and cows. Dogs and cats roam the route. Share the road.
After getting started early, we took a much needed break in the small town of Foktö. We found shade off to the side of the road. I set up my hammock and fell into a comatose sleep.
After grabbing a few food items at the local store, the three of us set off for campsites unknown. Our maps showed three possibilities, all of which didn’t materialize.
Backtracking to a restaurant, we split the "Rich Plate" and researched sleeping situations. At approximately nine o’clock, Beáta accepted our Airbnb booking request. We had a short ride to her place.
After struggling with the GPS coordinates and house number, she came out to meet us at a nearby Shell Station.
The flat was clean and spacious. Beáta was so very kind for putting it together so quickly. Our cost was 15€ each.
