Belgrade!
To start the day, we knew there were thirty busy kilometers ahead of us to reach the Serbian capital. After taking full advantage of the hotel breakfast buffet, we hit the road by eleven o’clock.
Many motor vehicles passed us on the way into the city, but it felt like drivers were quite considerate.
On the riverside, we stopped for iced coffee. I had three milk cake (Wow!).
Kelley had previously booked an Airbnb for 8€ each per night. I’m on vacation, but living for less than I would in the States.
We obtained a key for the apartment from a friend of the owner at a nearby business, then shipped the bikes and gear up an elevator to the sixth floor. I napped and ran a load of laundry. Later, we stepped out and explored the city.
We decided to explore the Belgrade Fortress in the dark of night. It was worth the walk. Many people were out meandering around the well-lit walls. At one point, I looked up at the moon and found it partially eclipsed. My phone camera kept blowing it out, so I wasn’t really able to take a good picture.
I’m wondering what kind of sign this is.
EuroVelo Sign #1280:
In an automobile you touch the pavement but on a bicycle, you touch the people.
