In Novi Sad, we rested.

This morning, we started cycling just after ten, headed toward Novi Sad. Kelley had suggested watching the men’s Wimbledon final. Novak Djokovic, a Serbian, would be playing Roger Federer (Swiss).

On the way, we stopped at a bakery for breakfast. I’ve started drinking yoghurt.

Wheeling into Novi Sad, we found a restaurant that had television sets. After a pizza, I started to fade. Although the match began in thirty minutes, my hammock was calling.

I set up across the street, connecting the straps to two young trees. Sleep took me for 3+ hours. During this marathon, there were several times that I woke to growling dogs, their owners calling them off. I remember chuckling and falling back into dream.

I finally woke, packed up the hammock and walked back over to the restaurant to join Isaac and Kelley.

The match was still being played.

We stayed until the end to watch Djokovic, the Serbian, defeat Federer in a match that was just a couple minutes shy of FIVE HOURS. I certainly applaud the boys for going the distance. I couldn’t really tell who was more exhausted, the players or the fans.

After an Airbnb fell through, we found City Hostel two blocks away for 10€ per bed. The atmosphere was cheerful.

We cleaned up and wandered the city, checking out the lights and nightlife.

It’s likely that we’ll ride a little more tomorrow.
