Friday was a bit of a recovery day.
In the morning, I ran a load of laundry. Clothes must groan as they enter this particular machine. Honestly, the cycle ran for close to three hours. I hung them to dry for the day.
Charlie, who is headed back home on Sunday, was able to sell the bike he purchased in Vienna for $90. He was kind enough to celebrate by buying us each an iced latte.
Isaac and I picked up two new tubes each at a bicycle shop.
We wandered the streets of Budapest aimlessly for hours, ending the night with an inexpensive kabab.
On Saturday morning, we enjoyed a stop at a little side street bookshop cafe. Kelley was in search of a new novel for the ride. I purchased a cotton bag that will be handy for carrying items when on the go (away from the bike). I also liked the fact the graphic commemorated an annual independent booksellers’ night in Budapest.
We then took a thirty minute stroll to Széchenyi Medicinal Bath, the largest medicinal bath in Europe. Time seemed to disappear (five hours) slipping into and out of saunas, hot tubs and pools. There is no question that I would indulge again if ever I find myself in this grand city.
In the evening, I investigated the Ruins Bars, patiently taking in the scene.
