Irring, Germany - July 30, 2018

We sleep on the doorstep of Austria.
When we began packing up this morning, a man from Barcelona approached us with his baby wonder if the child’s noise had kept us up during the night. I had slept like a rock. The conversation progressed to cycling tours he and his partner had taken in different parts of the world. He strongly suggested cycling in Iceland. I’ll have to try it. The pair were cycling with their five month old son and large dog from Irring, Germany to Vienna, Austria. They both had large travel trailers, one for the child, one for the dog. If they can do this trip, anyone can.
Again, we cycled in the heat, drinking a large quantity of water as we pedaled. The next few days promise the same. We know how to cope.

Being interested in the universe, I was pleasantly surprised to find, just outside of Vilshofen, a scale model of our solar system. We are quite small. Is it reasonable to be so serious?
In town, we stopped for pizzas and ice cream. Advertising is a little different here in Germany. I’ve learned that there is a "to go" price and a "for here" price, the latter being a touch more expensive. No problem.
Cycling in the adverse heat conditions did allow us to arrive at our campsite early - just after seven o’clock. This made for a relaxed time in the evening hours. We were able to set up and clean up before sitting for a chat at an on-site restaurant.
We are currently less than ten kilometers outside of Passau. After visiting the city in the morning, we will cross into Austria.
Time moves and so do we.
Note: Kelley’s mirror went missing today.
