Today, we dipped the Doubs.
After the night of the World Cup, we slept in, not leaving the Airbnb until checkout time (11:00 AM).
The cycling today was, again, beautiful. There has been a dramatic change in terrain over the last couple of weeks. The Doubs River, which we are now following, winds through tree covered foothills. Naked rock faces peek through the green, touching a cyclist’s heart.
As evening came on, we had great interest in swimming the Doubs. After deciding, it was a short cycle before finding a boat dock. With the logjam at the bottom, I climbed to the last rung and jumped clear. Kelley and I took our time with a there and back. What beats a summer swim?
Note: At the Clerval campsite, we pitched tents, accidentally, in a non camping spot. No problems, as yet, with the powers that be.
Note: Balance rule breaking with good Karma tomorrow.
